McClure Rustic Wedding - September 7, 2018
I recently had the pleasure of attending my baby sister, Mckennah’s, wedding day back in September. Being able to help her with the small decorations, the signs, and the invitation suite from so far away was such a joy since I couldn’t be there in person until the actual wedding day.
Just a little overview… Clay is a good ol’ Texas boy and Mckennah was always the social butterfly. They met in early high school in their hometown of Boerne, Texas. On her 16th birthday, Clay surprised Mckennah with a cake that read “will you be my girlfriend?” and just like that, their story began. Clay proposed to Mckennah on the beach of Charleston, North Carolina in the summer of 2017. A little over a year later, they wanted to go ahead and just tie the knot already!
For the custom invitation suite, we decided to keep it clean and simple by incorporating a floral watercolor design with calligraphy and adding a custom watercolor map of Boerne, Texas, the place where she and Clay began their relationship and where they chose to hold their wedding day.
To tie into the rustic feel of their venue and personal style, a 20in x 32in wooden plank welcome sign was created to guide guests to the ceremony location at the First Baptist Church Prayer Garden. Add a floral installation on top and call it good! Check out Sojourn Art and Ink’s favorite calligraphy materials linked in the sidebar of her website!
As a surprise ending to her siblings (me being one of them!), Mckennah and Clay shocked her sisters by announcing they are expecting a BABY in April of 2019! Come on now… I am pretty sure she was trying to kill us hahaha.
